TNW Corporation - HR Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY: A privately held well established middle market Railroad and Logistics Company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to work in their North Dallas Corporate office. The HR Specialist position will be responsible for a variety of HR duties as needed to include, but not limited to, staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, payroll, performance management, and organizational health/culture. Prior experience in Rail, Transportation, or Logistics highly preferred. The HR Specialist is responsible for providing both strategic and tactical support in alignment with business objectives. Reports directly to the Director HR
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the recruiting process to include writing job descriptions, posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening candidates, and directing the interview process. Coordinate the on-boarding process for all new hires to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and evaluate the HRIS systems to ensure data integrity and system effectiveness.
Advise supervisors and managers in the administration of policies and procedures including performance management, organizational design, workforce planning, and other related areas.
Partner with the Director of Human Resources to formulate HR related initiatives to best support business objectives.
Work as a subject matter expert and champion for HR related items specific to benefits and 401k plan administration.
Cultivate relationships across the organization to better understand business needs as they relate to HR.
Education & Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or another related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in HR position to include knowledge of employment laws, policies, practices, and procedures.
Prior experience developing, implementing, and administering benefit plans and/or 401k plans.
Experience working in the rail, logistics or transportation industry is highly preferred.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to handle highly sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Possess strong customer service skills along with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in order to build trust with employees and leadership.
Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple activities and communicate at all levels in the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
