With over 100 years of combined experience, TNW’s got a well-seasoned team at the helm.

Paul is responsible for the strategic direction, operations, corporate culture, and fiscal performance of TNW’s suite of operations. He also serves as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.

Paul has over 34 years of experience in senior executive leadership, primarily focused in the transportation and energy sectors. Prior to joining TNW in 2014, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Colo Railroad Builders. He has served as President of Alliant Energy Transportation, President of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway, Director of Generation, and Director of Electric and Gas Delivery for Alliant Energy Corporation, a NYSE company. Currently, Paul is serving on the Texas Freight Advisory Committee, and is President of the Texas Short Line Railroad Association (TSLRRA).

Paul has a B.B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Iowa. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for numerous professional organizations, including Colo Railroad Builders, Iowa Interstate Railway, Heartland Corporation, Iowa Northern Railway, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway, and the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association.

Wade Hoffmann

Wade is responsible for all aspects of TNW’s marketing, business development and communications programs. His responsibilities include sales and marketing, client retention, management of traditional and online media, brand building, website management, and internal and external corporate communications.

Wade has more than 20 years of experience in the railroad industry. Prior to joining TNW in 2014, he held senior executive positions with several railroad-related companies, including General Manager at Hulcher Professional Services, and Business Manager of Industrial Products for Union Pacific Railroad. Wade has a B.B.A. in Finance from Sam Houston State University.

Jason Gill

Jason is responsible for the overall performance and strategic development of TNW’s Logistics business segment. His responsibilities include planning, directing and coordinating operations that support TNW’s logistics subsidiaries.

Previously, Jason served as Vice President of Operations for TNW Corporation, and as General Manager of the TXR and TXGN Railways, where he was responsible for the daily operations of each railroad. He has more than 16 years of experience in the railroad industry, including working with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) executive groups and Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR).

Jason’s education includes the High-Performance Leadership and Negotiation and Decision-Making Strategies programs by The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. The National Academy of Railroad Sciences has certified Jason for multiple levels of business within the railroad industry, including Track Maintenance, Conductor, Engineer, and Bridge Maintenance. He joined TNW in 2004.

Vlieta Pennington
Director of Human Resources

Vlieta is responsible for strategic human resource planning to recruit, develop and retain top talent for TNW; providing, educating and assisting employees with a comprehensive benefit package; implementing our competitive compensation program; and developing and implementing personnel policies.

Vlieta has over 10 years of experience in the railroad industry. Prior to that, she served as Vice President/CFO of Dallas Brewery, Inc. Vlieta has a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Oklahoma.

Dave Hunter
Vice President, Finance

Dave is the primary executive responsible for fiduciary oversight of TNW’s assets, controls, accounting and measurement processes, and treasury function. He provides strategic financial, operating, and budgetary recommendations to achieve TNW’s overall business and strategic plan.

 

Dave has extensive experience and leadership from private equity-backed and public accounting firms of all sizes. Prior roles include VP, Finance and Controller at Medecision, Inc., and Corporate Controller at Layered Tech, Inc. He is a veteran of the United States Army.

Doug Campbell
Director of Infrastructure and Strategic Initiatives

Doug is responsible for providing the overall business strategy and management of the engineering and maintenance of TNW’s infrastructure, including all trackage, signals, bridges and buildings.

Before joining TNW, Doug’s 23-plus years in the railroad industry included serving as interim Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Vice President of Engineering for New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPBR). Prior to that, Doug was the Director of Engineering and Maintenance at South Carolina Public Railways. Doug is a certified engineer and holds a degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston.

Bobby Franklin

Bobby is responsible for directing and supporting all operations functions of TNW railroads and associated department operations and performance. 

Previously, Bobby served as the General Manager at TXNW Railway in Sunray, Texas. Prior experience includes serving as the Vice President of the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPBR). Other rail industry roles include Chief Transportations Officer at the NOPBR and Terminal Manager and Superintendent at CSX Transportation.

Andy is responsible for contributing to TNW’s overall strategic planning and managing sales initiatives and programs. He oversees the day-to-day coordination of customer accounts, interacting with customers, prospects and partners; and planning and managing new business.

 

Prior to his appointment at TNW, Andy served as General Manager for the Texas Rock Crusher Railway (TXR) in Brownwood, Texas. During his tenure at TXR, Andy held various leadership roles in the community, including serving on the board of directors for the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce, and on the advisory board at the Lehnis Railroad Museum. Andy is a certified Conductor / Engineer and is a veteran of the United States Army.

Andy Scheriger
Director of Sales & Business Development

 

Joey is responsible for directing all revenue car accounting operations, planning and implementing strategies to grow the business, managing customer service and support and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of TNW’s metrics reporting system. Prior to joining TNW, Joey served as Customer Success Manager at GE Digital, where he was responsible for servicing several high-profile accounts in the company’s short line division.

Joey has more than 16 years of experience in the railroad industry, serving as Operations Manager for a variety of short lines and as Director of Transportation Technology for Rail America, where, after a takeover by Genesee and Wyoming, Inc., he oversaw the automation of Genesee and Wyoming’s North American Railroads.

Cheryl Hart
Director of Marketing & Communications

 

Cheryl is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic marketing and communications vision for TNW. Responsibilities include creating, implementing and evaluating comprehensive marketing and communications programs.

 

Previously, Cheryl served as the Manager of Marketing and Branding at TNW Corporation in Dallas, Texas. Cheryl’s 25 plus years in the marketing and sales industry include serving as President of Hart Marketing, LLC, a DFW-based marketing production company, plus 13 years in various sales roles for marketing and print production companies. She has held several leadership positions with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Fort Worth and serves on the advisory panel for the C.T. Bauer Mini MBA program at the University of Houston. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas.
