
TNW LOGISTICS Operations Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager is responsible for providing operational leadership for the facility to ensure commercial execution, which includes providing technical and managerial expertise necessary for the efficient and profitable operation of the facility. This person must work and
communicate effectively with various managers to assure the facility is in a constant state of preparedness to meet schedules and take advantage of opportunities that arise. This includes inventory control, operational cost control and logistics, space allocation, preventative
maintenance, asset security, training and supervising employees, monitoring compliance with operational policies.
Reports directly to the Superintendent of Operations.
Reporting Location: Etter, TX

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience with heavy equipment and operations preferred
Managerial transloading operation experience preferred
Minimum 3 years of transportation and/or logistics experience
Supervisory and performance management experience preferred
Basic knowledge of the structural components of railroad track and track structures preferred
3 years of warehouse/product storage experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of warehouse/storage logistics, agricultural and feed product handling, use of transload equipment such as augers, silos, grain bins, conveyors, scales and other heavy equipment preferred
Basic understanding of construction and maintenance projects and ability to schedule the day-to-day work to complete projects in a timely manner
OSHA 30 certified
Licenses and Certifications:
Current driver’s license with clear driving record and no restrictions

Availability:
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week).
Requires commitment to irregular work hours in support of the success of a 24/7 operation. Occasionally works extended hours and shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position has a supervisory responsibility for employees at TNWLE.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use of tracking software to ensure product control and billing
Inventory control
Work with railroads to ensure good partnership
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Succession planning
Interpret and apply federal laws and regulations to ensure compliance with FRA, OSHA and TNW safety rules and policy
Analyze and manage all departments for optimum efficiency, safety, and profitability, and make appropriate recommendations for operational improvements
Build a strong culture of employee engagement
Work to improve employees’ work environment
Enforce TNW’s Safety and Operating Rules
Provide support for Employee Safety Committee
Conduct work environment audits and identify areas needing attention and improvement
Demonstrate and lead with corporate values of Integrity, Safety, Leadership, and Quality
Monitor staffing needs and overtime utilization
Complete and remit all required reports and communication in a timely manner, both orally and written
Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
Verify the operation’s safety program through employee training, regularly scheduled safety meetings, OSHA regulation compliance, and company rule compliance to achieve an environment free of accidents and injuries
Comply with all company and OSHA safety procedures, policies, and rules, including wearing required safety equipment
Communicate with VP of Logistics, VP of Marketing, VP of Finance, Superintendent of Rail Operations, and Director of Human Resources
Physical
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Possible heavy lifting over 50 pounds
Able to walk continuously for several hours
Able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and sit for extended periods of time
Able to use hands to hold, grasp, turn or pull
Able to reach over shoulder level
Able to use shovels, brooms, and other hand tools
Able to climb ladders
Able to work with loud noises, chemicals, fumes, dirt, and dust
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions (could be extreme) on even and uneven surfaces and on various heights of equipment and ballast. May be with noise, chemicals, and fumes
Will be required to stand, sit, walk, squat, climb, and reach with hands and arms. May occasionally be required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements for the operation and transloading
Knowledge of operation of conveyors, pumps, and truck scales
Knowledge of manufacturing and storage of agriculture products
Knowledge of machinery, such as but not limited to forklift and front-end loader
Knowledge and experience with transloading agricultural products from rail to truck, truck to rail, rail to storage, storage to truck and other related activities
