Financial Analyst
Reporting Location: TNW Corporate Office in Dallas, Texas
The Financial Analyst supports financial planning, reporting, and business analysis across the organization. This role works closely with Finance, Operations, and leadership to provide accurate, timely financial information that supports budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and day-to-day decision-making. The role will also monitor performance, optimize costs, and support strategic decisions on pricing.
Reports directly to the Director Finance.
Reporting Locations: TNW Corporate Office in Dallas.

Position Summary
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required and experience in transportation or logistics preferred
• 3-5 years of Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analysis related experience
Licenses and Certifications:
• Current driver’s license without restrictions
Skills and Attributes:
• Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g. SUMIF, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
• Ability to comfortably handle big data sets to provide summaries and/or affect decisions (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, SQL etc.)
• Efficient time management skills
• Strategic thinking
• Good organizational skills
• High attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
• Ability to communicate insights into complex data effectively to both financial and nonfinancial
stakeholders

Availability:
• This is a full-time position in the office (40 hours/week)
Position Requirements
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans
• Maintain forecast models and update them with actual results and revised assumptions
• Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate pricing changes, bids, new business opportunities, including scenario and sensitivity analyses
• Help track performance against budget and forecast and identify material variances
• Prepare regular financial reports, dashboards, and schedules for management
• Perform variance and trend analysis on revenue, expenses, and key operating metrics explaining key drivers and trends
• Analyze financial results by customer, department, and business unit to support business reviews
• Extract financial and operational data from ERP systems and reporting tools
• Validate data accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and work with accounting and operations teams to resolve issues
• Support customer and contract level financial analysis, including revenue and margin tracking
• Assist in customer contribution analysis
• Use data to support cost saving opportunities and evaluate the financial impact of process improvements or network changes
• Track and translate transportation KPIs into financial information such as cost per mile, cost per load, utilization, etc. to provide insights to improve efficiency and profitability
• Assist with month end close
• Support cash flow forecasts, capital expenditure reporting, and ROI analysis
• Support Finance leadership and senior management with ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support strategic decisions
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Finance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Must be proficient in written and spoken English
• May require occasional travel to operating locations to understand business drivers
• Ability to perform tasks from oral and written instructions
Working Conditions
• Comply with all company, FRA, and OSHA safety procedures, policies, and rules, including wearing required safety equipment
